Executive Educators: leading several schools (with NPQEL)

Our six-month programme builds the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the transition from headship to executive leadership of several (2+) schools, increasing your impact on the pupils who need it most.

Created and delivered by education and leadership experts, the programme explores approaches to school improvement when working across several schools as well as the design of an organisational-wide development strategy.

You will also explore the behaviours associated with great leadership and how they can enable you to successfully lead improvement across your schools and organisation.

You will be supported by a network of like-minded peers as well as a highly experienced coach, and will learn from some of the sector’s leading educators at two residential training events and a visit to a choice of MAT.

The programme also offers the opportunity to gain an NPQEL - a nationally-recognised executive leadership qualification.

Our curriculum focuses not just on technical skills and knowledge, but on behaviours and mind-sets in the belief that only by developing both can you be the best possible leader.

Our programme includes:

  • 6 days of expert-led intensive training
  • 4 hours of 1:1 coaching with a professional executive coach
  • 1 learning visit to a MAT
  • Peer learning opportunities
  • Experienced speakers from the field of education
  • 360 feedback tools

Residential events

The two intensive, three-day residentials allow you to build meaningful relationships with your peers and provide an opportunity for you to step away from the day to day and really focus on your own development and learning.

Across the two residential events you will develop a vision for yourself and your schools, gaining greater clarity on your role by exploring what it means to be an executive leader. You will also analyse the approaches to school improvement when leading several schools, as well as the sustainable development of your organisation

  • Residential 1: Monday 25-Tuesday 27 March 2019
  • Residential 2: Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 September 2019          

MAT learning visit

During the MAT learning visit, you will have the opportunity to take your learning offsite and participate in school-improvement focused workshops linked to your aims and priorities.

1:1 Executive Coaching

Across the duration of the programme, you will have access to 4 hours of 1:1 Executive Coaching with a qualified and experienced executive coach, providing you with the individual support to unlock your executive leadership potential.

NPQ Scholarships

For a limited time, you could now be eligible* to receive a fully-funded place on this programme following the DfE’s announcement that they are offering fully-funded NPQs in priority areas of the country.

The cost of the programme is £4,950.

If you are working in an Opportunity Area or a Category Area 5 or 6 you may be eligible for government funding to cover the full cost of the programme. If you are not sure whether you are in an Opportunity or Category 5 or 6 area, or for more information, please contact us.

* NPQEL: To complete the NPQEL qualification, you must complete two assignments as follows: 

·        Project 1: Designing a sustainable business development strategy for your organisation 

·        Project 2: Leading an improvement project to raise attainment and progress across several schools

You will have 18 months to complete your NPQEL from the start of the programme.

Eligibility

This programme is for serving executive leaders who have recently transitioned to an executive leadership role and whose focus is on leading improvement across more than one school.

If you are an aspiring executive leader and not yet in role, you must be able to demonstrate you have the opportunity to lead improvement of pupil outcomes across several schools. This is a compulsory criterion to be able to complete the NPQEL assignments.
